1. What is manoramaMAX Premium Membership and what are the available plans?

A. To access some of the content on manoramaMAX, users would need to pay a subscription charge (Rs 1,199/year or Rs 599/3 Months for India & $34.99/year for international locations). Premium content includes our entire Movie library, MAX Exclusives and early access to the on-air shows of Mazhavil Manorama at 10 AM IST every day. This also covers all the new titles that will be launched during the period of the subscription. Our premium membership offers a complete ad-free streaming experience. Meanwhile, the rest of our content, barring the premium content, shall continue to be available for free to all users, but will be served with ads while streaming, if the user is accessing from India or any of the GCC countries.

B. For users in countries other than India & the GCC countries, all content of manoramaMAX shall be accessible only after enrolling in our premium international plan at $34.99/year.

C. We also have a new Annual Combo Plan which bundles an annual Manorama Online Premium subscription alongside the regular manoramaMAX premium membership. It is priced at Rs 1,499 for India and $42 for international markets. A user purchasing the Annual Combo Plan will be activated with manoramaMAX subscription immediately while the Manorama Online Premium subscription will be activated on the same mail ID within 36 hours. For utilizing the benefit of Manorama Online Premium, subscribers purchasing the Annual Combo Plan on manoramaMAX should login with the same ID at www.manoramaonline.com or on the mobile applications of Manorama Online. Manorama Online Premium subscription is a digital-only paid subscription plan of Manorama Online that gives unlimited access to all premium and non-premium articles and exclusive content with an ad-lite experience. 2. What content will be available within the manoramaMAX premium membership for India & GCC users?

A. The content which comes under premium membership are Malayalam movies, MAX Exclusives and early access to the TV shows/serials of Mazhavil Manorama at 10 AM IST every day.

B. Early Access (‘much before TV’) enables paid subscribers to watch the above-mentioned Mazhavil Manorama shows & serials (which are usually premiered on TV at night) much in advance at 10 AM IST in the morning itself.

3. How can I avail a premium membership of manoramaMAX?

A. Login to www.manoramamax.com/subscribe (for website users) or login to manoramaMAX app on Apple or Android devices with your Manorama ID, Facebook ID or Google ID. Click on any premium content title (example : a Movie) with the ‘lock’ icon on it. You shall be redirected to a page with instructions telling you how to choose your plan and proceed with the payment option (in case of Android app) or to your iTunes billing account(if you are using iOS app version). After successfully entering & confirming your payment details, your subscription shall be automatically activated.

Payment methods, bank transactions, all have timeout issues/failure rates- in the unfortunate event that your payment goes through & the subscription doesn’t get immediately activated, please feel free to write to us immediately at manoramamax@mmtv.in to highlight the issue so that we can involve and set things right for you.

B. If you have activated a pack for free via a coupon code received as part of any marketing promotion, kindly note that you will have access to all our premium content but will be served advertisements as well. There may also be certain device count restrictions based on the free pack that you would have activated through the coupon code.

C. Coupon codes shall not be applicable on the Annual Combo Plan.

4. Is manoramaMAX available outside India?

  • Yes, we are available across the World.

  • For international locations other than the GCC countries, a user would be able to watch any content only after paying the subscription fee.

  • Please note that a subscriber who has taken a premium membership from India will have access to premium content only if the subscriber is watching within India. For watching premium content once the user is outside India, a subscription on our international plan is mandatory.

5. What is the validity of the membership?

A. manoramaMAX premium subscription on the annual plan is valid for a period of one year from the date of subscription. The quarterly plan shall give access for 3 months.

6. What is the maximum count of screens/devices supported with the same premium membership login?

A. With a manoramaMAX premium membership, you can now use the same user account in a maximum of 4 devices. If at all you see any error message stating that you are trying to access the service from more than the device limit eligibility as per the subscription plan, please check the number of devices and log out from any of the devices that you are not using & continue to enjoy the service from the applicable count of devices after refreshing. This might take 1 hour to reflect as you might need to clear the app data/cache too from the device that you are logging out from.

7. What are the system requirements for enjoying our content?

A. Below are the applicable browsers/operating systems/ devices through which our content can be best enjoyed:

*Exclusions:

- Smart TV models featuring Linux OS in the back-end

- Older TV models which do not have any compatible OS (external devices like Fire Stick /Chromecast / Roku may be used in such cases)

In addition, manoramaMAX is not pre-installed or present as an app within the OTT subscription bundle offered alongside Jio set-top box/Jio Fibre plans.

manoramaMAX continues to be available for download and installation by searching within Jio Store on Jio Set-top box, though.

Screen-mirroring of mobile app (provided as a feature in certain phone models) may not work properly on TV for content playback due to security protocols on video content.

8. I can see that manoramaMAX is also available on Amazon Prime Video, Xstream Play by Airtel, Tata Play Binge, Watcho by Dish TV, Vi Movies & TV app by Vodafone Idea etc. If I subscribe through any of these platforms, can I use the subscription on manoramaMAX's direct application? Also, if I already have a manoramaMAX subscription, can I use the same on any of these partner applications?

A. manoramaMAX add-on subscription on "Amazon Prime Video Channels" is an independent channel offered by Amazon Prime Video and meant for exclusive consumption within Amazon Prime Video only. It is to be purchased as an add-on subscription over the existing Prime Video membership of the user and once purchased, the user gets access to manoramaMAX content but all of this shall entirely reside within Prime Video channel only. This particular subscription is managed by Amazon Prime Video and hence, this cannot be used on manoramaMAX's own application.

Conversely, to watch premium content on manoramaMAX's own platform, a separate subscription on our platform is required. Since both the above subscriptions reside on separate platforms, they are exclusive of each other. Example - if a Prime Video user, who has already subscribed to manoramaMAX channel within Prime Video, tries to play premium content within manoramaMAX's own application, the user will be prompted for a fresh subscription on the own application. Also, when a manoramaMAX own platform subscriber tries to view content on manoramaMAX channel of Prime Video application, the user will be prompted for a fresh add-on subscription over the user's Prime Video subscription by Amazon Prime Video.

B. For all other partners like Xstream Play, Watcho, Binge, KEE etc., if a user has subscribed to an OTT subscription bundle offered by the respective partner where manoramaMAX is also part of the bundle alongside other OTTs, the user will be able to stream manoramaMAX content but this will be within the partner application only.

Separately, a manoramaMAX own application subscriber will still be prompted to subscribe afresh to any of the OTT bundles by the partner application if the subscriber tries to play manoramaMAX content on the partner application.

9. What does DRM stand for?

A. Our premium content is all DRM protected. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management whereby the content cannot be transferred, copied or even modified. To play DRM protected video content, your device should also support DRM.

SERVICE USAGE

10. I am facing issues during video playback. What should I do?

A. Please ensure that you are logged in with the right credentials. Also, please ensure that cookies are enabled on your browser. If you are getting to see a streaming error due to simultaneous viewing on your account from multiple devices, please close all other streaming videos from the other devices and do a refresh on your current device to resume watching.

11. Is there support for Amazon Fire Stick?

A. manoramaMAX is available on Amazon Fire Stick/ Fire TV. Please search for “manoramaMAX “under Apps & Games section of Fire Stick to install and enjoy manoramaMAX on Fire Stick.

12. Can I use manoramaMAX on Apple TV devices?

A. manoramaMAX is available for download on Apple TV. Please search with the string - "manoramaMAX" to download and install manoramaMAX through Apple TV device.

13. Is manoramaMAX available on Android TV app/ is it supported by Smart TVs having separate OS?

A. manoramaMAX is available on Android TV (version 6 and above). We are also available on LG webOS /Samsung Tizen OS as well for supporting Smart TV OS of LG & Samsung TVs (on select versions)

For all other TVs, we still have support for screen mirroring (this is a phone & TV feature and valid for any browser/app on the phone) & watching via Google Chromecast (only when Chromecast as an external device is connected)

BILLING-RELATED

14. What are the various payment modes available for subscription?

A. Broadly, the payment modes available for subscription are through Credit Cards, Debit cards and Netbanking in addition to other modes like UPI, RuPay and Wallets. For in-app billing initiated through Apple or Amazon or Google Play accounts, the payments shall be handled by Apple iTunes billing, Amazon or Google Play store respectively. Such subscriptions initiated through in-app billing are auto-renewing by default and shall recur automatically until the user separately cancels the subscription within the user’s concerned Apple/ Amazon / Google Play account.

Kindly note that if an auto-renewing subscription plan (other than the in-app billing options of Apple/Amazon/ Google Play) is selected after checking the consent tick-mark to authorize auto-renewals according to the plan and a subsequent valid purchase is also made using a recurring mode of payment instrument that supports renewals like auto-recurring UPI, credit card, etc., the membership shall be initiated and the user shall be authorizing the biller to deduct applicable payments directly from the concerned payment instrument.

(Recent RBI mandate in India has instructed respective Banks to facilitate suitable instruments to take customer confirmations before proceeding with recurring payments. In case, your respective Bank has not complied with the RBI mandate yet, the recurring subscription shall not happen)

15. How about payment modes like e-wallets, UPI etc.?

A. Yes, the payment gateways Razorpay & Worldline also provide support for e-wallets and payment modes like UPI/RuPay etc.

16. How can I get to know my subscription details?

A. Please go to your Account details on the app/website after you’re logged in. Here, under subscription details, the mode of subscription, validity and the selected plan, etc are displayed for your information. Kindly note that the subscription charges are non-refundable in nature.

Our subscription plans via existing Google Play Billing (which is managed by Google Play Store) have been designed to be recurring in nature and the charges will be billed at the start of each billing cycle, unless the user had directly cancelled the subscription at Play Store to cancel the auto-renewal. The same case applies for payments made through in-app billing options of Apple or Amazon accounts too(in case of Fire TV).

17. How can I view my payment history?

A. Currently, payment confirmation for premium membership would be reaching registered users as an e-mail. In case of Apple iTunes billing, Apple would also be sending an order confirmation to the user’s Apple-store linked account.

18. Are the subscription charges inclusive of taxes?

A. Yes, subscription charges are inclusive of taxes

19. Is there a “Cash payment” option available for Premium membership?

A. No, we support only digital modes 😊 . Kindly route all purchases of Premium membership via recognized online payment modes only.

20. How can I download & install manoramaMAX?

A. You can search for “manoramaMAX” on Google Play store (Android TV)/ Apple app store and download it yourself. Otherwise, you can access the same through direct links.

21. How can I start using manoramaMAX after installing the app?

A. For accessing any content, you need to be logged in first as a user.

B. Once you have installed the app from Play store/App Store/ Android or Fire TV, you can open it and click on any content on app homepage.

C. It will prompt you to Login - > From here, you can login to manoramaMAX using either your Google or Facebook credentials or create a new Manoramaonline account & then you may start viewing your choice of free content.

D. Kindly note that for accessing premium content (content with a lock icon on the image- Movies, Original series etc.), you will need to have a premium subscription.

22. How can I start using manoramaMAX on my TV/ “I can see a code on my TV after installing ; how do I use it?”

Before you read the detailed steps below, please do watch a simple, self-explanatory tutorial video on how to connect manoramaMAX on your smart TV by clicking here

  1. Please install manoramaMAX application on your smart TV by going to the app store of the TV (please check if your smart TV version supports app installation by looking at the list in Point 7).
  2. Once installed, open manoramaMAX on your smart TV, go to the 'Settings' option & choose 'Login'.
  3. You will now see a screen with various self-explanatory options for Logging in. On the right side, you will see a QR code also.
  4. Open manoramaMAX mobile app, go to 'Activate TV' button inside Main Menu & follow the instructions.
  5. The TV app recognizes the login which you made on the mobile app & logs you in with the same credentials on TV also.

23. How can I recover my password?

A. A separate Password is required only when you have chosen ‘Create Account’ option for creating a manoramaMAX account and gone ahead to create a Manorama Account with an email ID, phone number & password of your choice. (In case of Google Sign-in or Facebook Sign-in method, they use the same password linked to your Google or FB account & hence you may need to recover these separately from Gmail or FB if you so require it)

Hence, for changing or recovering the Manorama ID’s password, click on ‘Forgot Password’ at the Login Menu and provide necessary details as instructed. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail ID with a link to reset your password. Please follow the instructions mentioned in this email. If you are signed in, you would need to sign out and then go to the Login Menu again to see the ‘Forgot Password’ option.

24. How can I sign out of my account?

A. You may do so from by clicking ‘My Account’

B. Click on ‘Sign Out’ option and you’re done!

C. By doing so, you are only signing out from your current device. If you are signed in from any other device, you would have to sign out from the other device separately.

Otherwise, you can go to ‘My Account’ section on the website and choose ‘My Devices’ option (this option is shown only on the website version) to view all devices that are logged in with the same account and de-register each device individually.

25. How can I keep my manoramaMAX account secure?

A. In case, you are using a Google or Facebook Login, there is no additional password required except for your gmail or Facebook-linked email ID’s password but if you have created a Manorama account by providing email ID/phone no and setting a separate password, it is recommended to use a strong password and not to share it with anyone as there might be unwarranted and unsolicited phishing attempts. Always remember to sign out of your device when you are using it on a public domain/network.

26. When I try to login to mobile app or smart TV app, it shows a message saying that my number is already linked to 4 devices. How can I de-link/de-register unwanted devices?

a. You can view the list of devices linked to your manoramaMAX account on the website ( www.manoramamax.com ) only.

b. On the website, go to the 'My Account' section (after logging in).

c. Under "My Devices", you will be able to see the entire list of devices where your manoramaMAX account is currently logged-in.

d. There will be a "Deregister" option next to each listing of the devices in 'My Devices'.

e. You can choose to 'Deregister' the device that you want to de-link from your account.

Once you have reduced the number of devices to less than 4 here, you can proceed with regular login on mobile app/smart TV & it will go through successfully.
